WoW Housing Is Getting CHRISTMAS DECOR
Patch 12.1.7 Winter Veil Housing Decor Guide — what’s coming, where to get it, and what we know so far!
Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year. I am one of those people who wants the whole house decorated, lights everywhere, Christmas trees in multiple rooms, garlands, wreaths, cushions, candles… basically if it can be made festive, I will make it festive.
And apparently that now applies to Azeroth too.
Because obviously decorating my entire house IRL for Christmas was not enough. Now I also have a WoW house that needs the full treatment.
So when the first Patch 12.1.7 PTR build started revealing Winter Veil housing decor, I was immediately sold. We are not talking about one token Christmas tree and a couple of presents either. Blizzard seem to have gone properly festive with trees, stockings, wreaths, presents, string lights, candy canes, snowmen, icicles, a sleigh, a fireplace and even an entire Cozy Cabin collection.
Basically, my real house and my WoW house are both going to be completely covered in Christmas decorations this year, and I am absolutely fine with that.
So, if you are also already planning your festive housing makeover, here is a look at all the amazing new Christmas decor appearing in Patch 12.1.7, where it currently looks like we will get it from, and what you might want to start planning for now.
🎄 First Things First — This Is PTR
Before we all start planning our perfect Winter Veil houses, it is worth remembering that Patch 12.1.7 is currently on the PTR.
That means item names, vendor locations, prices and even acquisition methods can still change before the patch reaches live servers.
Some of the decor has already been datamined with clear vendor sources, while other pieces currently look like they may come from promotions or Shop bundles. That does not mean those sources are final yet, so I would definitely avoid panic-farming or assuming anything is locked in.

🎄 Proper Christmas Trees
We have actual Winter Veil Christmas trees. Not just another bush that we have all collectively agreed to pretend is a Christmas tree. Proper ones!!
The current PTR data includes:

Sparsely Decorated Winter Veil Pine Tree
Star-Touched Winter Veil Pine Tree
The Star-Touched version is already calling to me.
And let’s be realistic, I will probably have multiple Christmas trees in my WoW house too because apparently I have learnt absolutely nothing from real life.

✨ Christmas Lights. Finally.
This is probably one of the bits I am most excited about because good lighting completely changes a housing build.
Current PTR items include:

Cozy Cabin Blue String Lights
Imagine these around beams, wrapped around staircases, over fireplaces, outside around windows or across ceiling spaces.
I am going to need hundreds!!
The Cozy Cabin versions currently appear to be linked to a promotional or Shop-related source, but again, that is not confirmed for live yet.
🎁 Presents Everywhere
This is exactly the kind of decor that makes a Christmas room actually feel finished.
Instead of one generic present box, we appear to be getting loads of different variations, including:
White Present with Red Bow
Green Winter Veil Present with Red Bow
Red Winter Veil Present with Green Bow
Red Winter Veil Present with White Bow
Green Present with Red Bow
Red Present with Gold Bow
Black and Gold Present

There are also separate decorative bows, including red, gold and purple variations.
That means you can actually pile gifts beneath a tree without it looking like Greatfather Winter bought all his wrapping paper in one bulk pack.
The black, gold and purple options are especially nice because they give us something beyond traditional red and green and should work beautifully in more elegant or Blood Elf-style builds too.

🧦 Stockings, Wreaths & Mistletoe
THIS is the stuff that makes the whole house feel properly Christmassy.
Current items include:

These smaller pieces are probably going to be some of the most useful in the whole collection because you can scatter them throughout your house rather than relying on one huge centrepiece.

Then there is the Cozy Cabin set. And this is where things start getting dangerous for me.

The fireplace is going to be an obvious favourite, but I am actually really interested in the day and night windows too. Those could work brilliantly in fully enclosed builds where you want to create the illusion of a snowy outside view.
The current PTR data suggests this collection may be linked to some form of promotion or Shop bundle, but that is still unconfirmed.
❄️ Winter’s Frost Decor
If traditional red-and-green Christmas is not your thing, the Winter’s Frost collection looks like it could be perfect for snowy and icy builds.
Current pieces include:

The icicles are especially useful because they are not just Christmas decor.
You could use those on roofs, cave builds, frozen entrances, cliffs or custom architecture long after Winter Veil has finished.
And then there is the hot tub - A Christmas hot tub! I have no idea why Azeroth needed this. I only know that I need one!
🛷 Outdoor Christmas Decor
We are not limited to decorating inside either. There are some lovely outdoor pieces appearing too, including:

Winter’s Frost Snowy Tree
The sleigh is exactly the kind of large outdoor centrepiece I wanted. The candy-cane barriers could also be really useful for building little market areas, pathways, event entrances or a full Winter Veil village.
⭐ The Ornament of Midnight
There is also a housing piece called The Ornament of Midnight, which is currently associated with the seasonal housing vendors.
I really like the idea of Blizzard tying some of the holiday decor into the current expansion rather than every year simply recycling the exact same Winter Veil look.
If they keep doing that, we could eventually end up collecting seasonal furniture in exactly the same way we collect mounts, transmog and pets.
Which is terrible news for those of us already drowning in collectibles.
🎅 Where Do I Actually Get the New Christmas Decor?
Based on the current PTR information, the decor seems to be split into a few main groups.
🏠 Housing Seasonal Decor Vendors
Several pieces are currently associated with:

Jolli Maxiboom — Razorwind Shores /way 52.4 54.3
These appear to include several trees, lights, presents and bows.
🎄 Traditional Winter Veil Vendors
Another group appears to be connected to the usual Winter Veil vendors around Ironforge and Orgrimmar. This seems to include items such as:
wreaths
stockings
mistletoe
presents
sleigh decor
other traditional Winter Veil pieces

🎁 Promotion / Shop Sources
Some of the Cozy Cabin and Winter’s Frost pieces currently appear to be flagged as promotional or Shop-related items. That is still datamined information and could absolutely change.
So for now, I would treat those sources as:

🎄 How Much New Christmas Decor Is There?
Quite a lot!! MMO-Champion currently reports dozens of new Winter Veil housing pieces, with a large batch appearing to come from vendors and another collection potentially linked to promotions or bundles.
And that is before you even start looking at the other Winter Veil rewards being added alongside the housing items.
So if you are already a housing collector… December may be expensive.
And time-consuming. Probably both!
🏡 Build Ideas I’m Already Planning
This is where my brain immediately went.
A traditional Christmas living room with a fireplace, stockings, red-and-green tree, presents, wreaths and warm lighting.
A snowy Winter Veil cabin using the Cozy Cabin furniture inside and Winter’s Frost decor outside.
A full Winter Veil market using candy-cane barriers, trees, lights, presents and the sleigh.
A completely icy exterior with icicles hanging off rooflines and snowy trees everywhere.
Or you could just do what I probably will and decorate absolutely everything.
Every room.
Every wall.
Every corner.
IRL and in WoW.

🎄 Final Thoughts
Housing has already managed to turn a worrying number of us into decorators, builders and people who become genuinely excited when Blizzard adds a new chair.
But seasonal decor takes that to a completely different level for me.
Christmas is already the time of year when I go completely overboard decorating our house IRL, and now apparently I have another entire house in Azeroth that needs the exact same treatment.
Between the trees, lights, presents, stockings, fireplaces, snowy furniture, icicles and outdoor decor, Patch 12.1.7 looks like it is giving us enough pieces to make genuinely different Christmas builds rather than simply putting one festive tree in the corner and calling it done.
And this is still early PTR. There may be even more coming.
So yes, my real house will be covered in Christmas decorations. My WoW house will be covered in Christmas decorations.
