Sszorak Mythic Down - 5/8 Mythic!

šŸ THE MID-RAID WALL HAS FALLEN.

Huge congratulations to the raid team on killing Mythic Sszorak in 66 pulls.

Despite being only the fifth boss in The Venomous Abyss, Sszorak is where the raid really starts to bite. It is a high-movement platform fight with constant wind pressure trying to launch people into the abyss, while the raid has to precisely place and ignite green orbs to get safely back onto the platform.

There is very little room for individual error, and the statistics really show the step up in difficulty.

Across tracked guild kills, Sszorak has around a 2.5% boss kill rate, with the typical kill range sitting at roughly 45–77 pullsĀ and around 3.2–5.4 hours of progression.

So bringing him down in 66 pullsĀ puts us right in the expected range for a boss that is widely considered the first serious mid-raid wall.

CURRENT RANKING

5/8 Mythic

World #1311 EU #778 EU English #455 Realm #35

And now we move onto The Twin Fangs. They are another step up again statistically, currently sitting at around a 2.2% kill rate, with kills generally taking somewhere in the region of 55–93 pulls. After that, though, comes the boss everyone knows is waiting for us.

šŸ THE REAL WALL - THE COILED ALTAR

We're getting close enough now that Cutting Edge genuinely starts to feel like the destination rather than something miles away, but there is absolutely no illusion about what still stands between us and it.

The Coiled AltarĀ is the monster of this raid.

Only around 140 guildsĀ to date have cleared it, with a 0.4% kill rate. Average progression sits at roughly 169–242 pulls, or somewhere around 16.7–23.9 hours.

That is a massive jump from Sszorak and Twin Fangs.

The fight itself is a chaotic multi-phase marathon combining Zul'jan and Hex Lord Malacrass, with single-target burn phases, split-raid soaks, ghost management and then a final phase where both bosses are active while the raid repeats mechanics from everything that came before.

It is going to be a huge gear, consistency and coordination check. But that is a problem for future us.

For now, Sszorak is dead in 66 pulls, we're 5/8 Mythic, and we've broken through the mid-raid wall.

Brilliant work from everyone involved. Another boss down, another step closer to our goal.

Twin Fangs next.
